Delight your special Duke fan with some 2021 seasonal gifts

With the holiday shopping boom and well-armed preparations, did you know that there are places on campus where you can pick gifts for some of the people on your list?

The Nasher Art Museum, Sarah P. Duke Garden, and Duke Lemur Center all have gift ideas, and Duke University stores offer a variety of choices on campus and Duke Electronics Store.

As of December 20, Duke University employees, faculty, and students will receive a 25% discount on certain clothing and gifts at the University Store, Duke Medical Center Bookstore, and Duke Team Store.

If you are looking for inspiration, check out these fun Duke-themed gift ideas.

Every year, the Duke University store commissions a set of hand-painted glass decorations to capture campus scenes or life at Duke University. This year’s collection includes a painting of the West Campus covered in thick snow and a particularly meaningful decoration depicting a painting on the lawn in front of Duke University Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. After four decades, five national championships and more than 1,200 victories, Duke men's basketball coach Mike Krzyszewski will retire at the end of the season. Relive some of his epic moments and learn about his legacy through the new book "Coach K: The King of Cameron" by The Duke Chronicle staff.

This 135-page book contains classic stories, full-color photos and thoughts of famous writer John Feinstein, former Blue Devils star Jay Bilas and others. It is a must-read for Duke basketball fans.

This luxurious blanket has a plush feel and Duke style, keeping it comfortable in the cold winter. It measures 60 x 50 inches and is perfect for sharing.

This 6 x 9 inch spiral bound notebook contains 24 full-page photos in color, and you can admire the beautiful flora and fauna of Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Use this book to write a diary, draw, write or take notes, and never forget your experience in one of the most beautiful places in Duke.

The notebook can be purchased at the Terrace Shop in Duke Gardens.

For the young people on your list, the Duke University store has some products that can make them happy. You can choose from a variety of stuffed animals, including this cute bear. Because Duke University has a rich basketball culture, this gift set with soft balls and hoop will delight any young Cameron Crazie.

But since Duke is the home of the 2021 ACC baseball and softball champions, how about this bat and ball suit?

Don't forget the four-legged relatives on your list. These two Duke Blue Devils chew toys should keep them out of trouble.

Roy Lichtenstein's combination of familiar imagery and subversive humor made him a leading figure in the Pop Art movement in the second half of the 20th century. But before that, he accepted an abstract style and still managed to feature his iconic wit.

That is the work of the Lichtenstein period recorded in the new catalog "Roy Lichtenstein: History in Making, 1948-60" produced by the Nasher Art Museum and the Colby College Art Museum. This catalogue celebrates an exhibition of Lichtenstein's early abstract works, which will visit Duke University in the summer of 2022. Through this book, you can learn about upcoming rare works in advance.

The Duke Lemur Center has some new clothing options this year, including these colorful shirts featuring ring-tailed lemurs.

As always, you can help protect the critically endangered residents of the center by purchasing an adopted lemur holiday package, which includes a plush lemur, a tote bag, a face mask, and a large number of updates to the center's lemurs.
